feb-networking-lunchThe fourth Thursday of February, our regular network evening, falls during the school holidays this year. So, as is becoming a tradition, we invite those who are able to join us for a Japanese lunch at Sushi Morikawa.

Fun, informal, and delicious, this is a great opportunity to relax and connect with one another. Space is limited though, so please sign up as soon as you can and do let us know if there are any food preferences the Chef needs to be aware of.

Deborah-ValentineDeborah Valentine, Director of ACCESS since April 2010, has been credited with “turning the organisation around”. A cape she wears uncomfortably. SHE has not turned it around; the volunteers who have contributed to ACCESS since she joined have done so.

For many organisations, volunteers are considered haphazard, high management, even unreliable. Deborah will explore why this does not have to be case, the norm nor the assumption.

There is tremendous value in the contribution of people’s time, energy and skills – for no charge. How can you harness that – for yourselves and them?

Menu Options

For those who are not into sushi or raw fish, the chef is ready to prepare other options, such as meat dishes and cooked fish. Please give your requests or preferences at the time of booking.


€25 per person, includes tea. Additional drinks are at your own cost.


Please don’t forget to de-register if you are not able to make it after all.

Sushi MorikawaSushi Morikawa, the Osaka-style sushi restaurant of Den Haag.

Osaka is traditionally the centre of the foodmarket in Japan. Where the inhabitants of Osaka are proudly considered to be connoisseurs, “Kuidaores” or “Those who stuff themselves” with a great sense of humor and few pretences.

The hand pressed sushi, better known abroad as Edo-mae sushi finds its origin in Tokyo. However, Osaka style sushi is different and is known as Hakozushi (press box sushi). The sushi rice is pressed in a rectangular wooden mall and is combined with shrimp, raw eel and raw fish. This special combination creates a delicate taste sensation. We invite you to acquaint yourselves with this original and traditional Hakozushi.

Besides diner at the restaurant our service includes lunchboxes (take-away) and catering for private parties, including lunch parties.
