Start your Own Business Seminar is back!

The event is a fantastic opportunity for internationals who want to set up business in the Netherlands to gather information and get started. It takes place on Thursday, November 16th in the World Trade Centre The Hague (WTC) and starts at 17:30.

Women’s Business Initiative International (WBII) and WTC The Hague have joined forces again and organised three 45 minute seminars in one workshop where attendees can find out and learn about:

1. Business set up in the Netherlands: general differences between Dutch and other markets.
2. Legal considerations from a personal and business perspective.
3. Reality check – gain insights, tips and financial insights from those who have already set up.
4. Brainstorm and identify the actions you need to take to move forward.
5. Building your network – Dutch style.

Start Your Own Business enables you to learn, ask questions and network with people who have been there and done it as well as those who are on your same path. Interested?

Follow up: A follow up conference call with a Q&A session takes place on December 1st at 21:00 for 1 hour.

Registration fee: €55 (including BTW)
Registration and full payment are required in order to attend this seminar.

Speaker Line Up

Sinéad Hewson

She is head of TpEBO and managing partner of The Dendrite Group, specialises in high performance; leadership and communication. She is an active member of Women’s Business Initiative International (WBII) in The Hague. Her workshop will give you an opportunity to brainstorm your business next steps and give you a realitycheck on setting up so you are inspired to go for it. She is an NLP trainer and facilitates challenging meetings for clients.

Ute Limacher-Riebold

Ute Limacher-Riebold is the owner of Ute’s International Lounge   where she helps internationals understand the culture and language and navigate their life abroad successfully. She holds a PhD in Romance Philology and specialized in bilingualism, verbal and non-verbal communication, and intercultural communication. She offers consultations and trainings in German, Italian, French, English and Dutch.
In her workshop you will learn how to find a networking format that best suits YOU, how to prepare for the event, how to get the most out of it and how to approach networking in a foreign country.

Michiel Heffels

Nowadays Partner of Heffels Spiegeler Advocaten, he initially became an attorney-at-law specialising in intellectual property law at an internationally renowned law firm in Amsterdam until the end of 2002 after graduating in 1998.

Michiel worked for 12 years as a Senior Legal Counsel in the Corporate Legal & Regulatory department of telecommunications company Royal KPN where he was involved with matters concerning consumer law, administrative law, competition law, contract law, intellectual property rights, media law, ICT law, distribution and agency law. At KPN’s headquarters, he was responsible for the legal supervision of dozens of lawsuits in the area of among others misleading advertising, copyright and trademark related cases. He continued advising KPN as a Senior Legal Counsel when KPN launched its television-services in 2004 and continued to advise in this specific area of copyright- and medialaw until 2009.

Until the end of 2014 he was responsible for advising the External Distribution departments of KPN Retail Corporate and KPN Retail Consumer and KPN Wholesale Mobile (E-Plus The Netherlands) on new agreements and developments in the field of resale, distribution and agency law.

Michiel Heffels is also active in the field of art and culture. He has been a member of the Supervisory Board of Droog Design and is still active as a board member of the Foundation for Modern Music Nijmegen and Gallery Marzee. Michiel Heffels speaks Dutch, English and German.

Marcel de Lijster

He works at Webster University and Down 2 Earth Dutch will co-present with Sinead Hewson and give insights on the financial aspects of setting up in the Netherlands. Marcel de Lijster recently started his own business and works with his TOP Fit program (FIT for Teams, Organizations and People) in which he looks at the FIT that organizations and people have with each other. Previously he worked at one of the largest banks in Holland as Manager Control. He has almost 30 years work experience to add to his knowledge of strategic management, organizational behaviour, change management and risk management.

Christine Dahl

She is an American lawyer living in The Hague, she leads the Dahl International Tax law firm. She attended one of the first Starters Seminars and established her business in WTC The Hague. She will highlight at the end of the session, her tips and  experience of developing her business from a start-up to a solid six-figure business.

Natacha Villedieu-Silvestre

Since 2011, she has engaged with entrepreneurs, making successful business set up and providing a secure administration support at Optirisk Solutions.

She is facilitating the organization of the SYOB events as well as WBII Professional Workshops. She will be happy to answer a wide range of your practical questions – on how to set up a business in The Netherlands – during the free networking time.
