Collaborating with purpose

There are many reasons to collaborate, in life and business. At the WBII we have had several collaborations in the past, and are happy to announce taken steps to strengthen them for 2019. We are confident that these will serve our members as well as those with whom we will be collaborating. Our motivation? To extend to the members of the groups with which we have planned the events below a wider network of connections and knowledge, and an opportunity to share their own experiences with the future generation of young, female leaders, entrepreneurs and professionals.

In addition we are happy to announce a revised Student membership fee which we hope will encourage more young women to join, and learn from the WBII. In 2019 the student membership fee will go down to €25/year and their contribution to our monthly events will be €10/event. We trust our current members will welcome these new attendees at our events, and members to our group – and support them as they evolve in their professions and careers. Imagine what you would have learnt had you had this network when you were a young woman? We can DO that for them – and at the same time be inspired by their own knowledge and creativity.

Collaborating to broaden our networks

1001VrouwenIn collaboration with Spark Women – an Amsterdam based female entrepreneurial network – we invite you to join us for a guided tour of the exhibit “1001 women in 20th century” at the Amsterdam Museum. We will all meet at the Museum on Monday, 28 January at 10:30 am for coffee, followed by a guided tour of the exhibit till about 12. Those wishing to stay for lunch are welcome to, as the museum also has charming café we can reserve for those interested. The cost €25 includes museum entrance fee & guided tour. Join us to not only learn about women in the 20th century, but also, to meet, network and connect with fellow female entrepreneurs based in Amsterdam.

AmsterdamMuseumlogoKindly register by 15 January so we can confirm and book the event in a timely fashion. Please do indicate if you intend on staying for lunch (at your own expense) so we know how many we should reserve space for in the Museum’s Cafe!

Collaborating to inspire & mentor

In collaboration with Women in Innovation and Leadership – a Hague based, female student association of University College Leiden – we are happy to announce two events planned for 2019. After a successful ‘first’ joint event where Petra Fisher shared her tips about using LinkedIn, we have reached out to other renowned speakers to provide a presentation to a gathering of W.I.L. and WBII members. We cannot emphasise enough how inspiring it was to be able to share with these young, future leaders, entrepreneurs and professionals our own experiences and advice, so, we encourage our members to take part in these two events.

On Wednesday 13 February Jonathan Talbott will speak to us about public speaking, and on Thursday 23 May (our regular networking evening) Natali Drake will talk to us about Corporate Storytelling and how the art of storytelling is so vital in business.

Both of these evenings will take place at W.I.L’s location in the centre of The Hague: Stille Veerkade 9, 2512 BE from 6-9pm and each will have the same networking fee as at our regular events: €15/member and €25/non-member.

Registration and more info closer to the date, for now, do mark your calendars for what will be, we are confident, a collaborative success.
